Kjell Frisk, born in Finland, moved from Uppsala, Sweden, to Aland in 1995 and has since been a woodwind teacher at Alands musikinstut (“the Aland musical institute”). Kjell is frequently engaged as a chamber and ensemble musician, in a variety of genres.
Kjell plays several instruments, primarily of the woodwind variety, the clarinet being his main instrument.
Since moving to Aland, Kjell has spent more time composing music. In 2010 his composition for the medieval ensemble “Aubade-Estampia” was nominated for the Nordic Council’s musical prize.
